Welcome To Sal's Workshop
Sal tailors his teachings to the needs of the individual. Each person’s growth is in a constant state of flux and change. What worked for you three weeks ago may not work for you today. How you communicated ten minutes ago may no longer be relevant in the present moment. He enjoys working with people who are self motivated and eager to be challenged.
The Stanislavski System
Sal's career as an educator, director and producer spans over 30 years. Working in both New York and Los Angeles, Sal trains actors, teachers and directors alike. He is a noted authority on the Stanislavski System and the distillation of that system by Lee Strasberg, Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, and Kristen Linklater among others.
He was the Artistic Director of the Bethany Colony Playhouse Summer Stock Theatre in the Poconos, PA. As a resident Director at the Grove Shakespeare Festival, Sal’s production of Taming of the Shrew won a critics award for best Director. He has built four different theaters, three of which are still operating. Sal was the founding Artistic Director of the Friends and Artists Theatre Ensemble which garnered thirty various critics awards for acting, producing and directing in Los Angeles.
He currently works with, coaches and teaches film, television and stage actors from around the world at his Toluca Lake Studio. Among his students are Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG, Tony, and Grammy award winners.
Sal has been married to his best friend Laurie Wendorf for thirty-six years.
